Tardree Sedge 2

Tardree keeps the winners coming

A gutsy performance by Tardree saw this former Irish Point to Point Winner getting off the mark in England by a head in a close contest. The third winner in a wekk for the stable !

TARDREE proved game when headed down the home straight and the rising finish played into his hands. He bumped into one over C&D on his rules debut last month and, not surprisingly being an Irish point winner, ought to enjoy going up in trip once hurdling.

AAO Cat 1

Against All Odds wins on Hurdles Debut

Promising 5yo Against All Odds made a gutsy winning hurdles debut at Catterick Park this afternoon under a determined ride from Ben Jones. The yard continues to be in top form !

A fair novice hurdle. AGAINST ALL ODDS showed promising ability in her two bumper starts at Perth earlier in the year and was popular in the betting markets here on her hurdling debut. The 5yo showed a smashing attitude in this first career success and has the potential to continue progressing over hurdles and fences.

Goldfields Fak 1

Gold Fields of the mark at Fakenham

Gold Fields got off the mark over fences at Fakenham today with a fine display of jumping to win impressively by 18 lengths. Still only a 6 year old he is now fulfilling the promise he has shown at home and hopefully there will be more to come..

GOLD FIELDS bounded clear from the second-last and recorded a first win under rules at the 14th time of asking. Rated as high as 88 over hurdles in the past, but without a place in any of 13 starts beforehand, this sudden improvement in form is difficult to fathom. He jumped well and travelled strongly throughout though, and will likely be in for a hefty hike in the weights once the handicapper has his say.

Big Pen Ling 3

Big Penny wins again

Big Penny wins going away despite a 6lbs rise in the handicap. She is in good form and clearly relishes the soft ground.

BIG PENNY came through under a well-timed ride and was well on top at the business end. She was up 6lb for winning at Perth last month and this deeper surface was no bother, so current connections obviously have her in tip-top form

SA Sedge 4

Socialist Agenda lands the hatrick

Socialist Agenda maintained his unbeaten record and landed a hatrick of bumper wins when taking the closing race at Sedgefield on Tuesday 29th September 2020. Givin 17 lbs to the year older runner up this was an impressive performance and a fine ride by Adam Wedge.

This bumper had a couple of previous winners in it, so this ought to be fair enough form. SOCIALIST AGENDA, a two-time winner at Market Rasen, was strong in the market and maintained his unbeaten status with a decent weight carrying performance. He was pushed out in the final stages but never looked likely to be caught and will hopefully translate the ability to hurdling when the time comes. It's might be possible that he could be tried on the Flat at some stage.

BP Perth 3

Big Penny Victorious at Perth

Big Penny has been knocking on the door since joining the yard and got of the mark in good style today at Perth, given a top ride by Adam Wedge, who first won in these colours on Picky at Towcester back in October 2008 !

BIG PENNY collected her first win since October 2017. She'd run to RPRs better than her official mark the last twice, so she was in enough form to take advantage of any good opportunity that presented itself like this one.

BBen South 3920 5

Beautiful Ben makes all at Southwell

With the Visor back on and under a great ride from Adam Wedge, Beautiful Ben makes all over 2 miles at Southwell

BEAUTIFUL BEN had the run of things out in front on this first drop back to 2m this season. Occasionally audacious at his fences in the first-time visor but never in danger of falling, this will have done wonders for his confidence, and he won't necessarily be weighted out of following up once reassessed, having defied an 8lb higher mark last autumn

LL Bangor 4

Licklighter wins at Bangor

The yard is in great form as Licklighter, a recent import from Ireland made a comfortable winning debut in this country. A great result for longstanding yard supporter Paul Read.

LICKLIGHTER, an Irish import who was bought for £9,000 in October, was making his debut for Laura Morgan. He proved quite popular in the betting and the support was not misplaced as he scored quite nicely after taking closer order just before halfway. It will be interesting to see if he can back this up.

SA wins

Socialist Agenda wins impressively at Market Rasen

Socialist Agenda makes an impressive winning debut under a confident Adam Wedge at Market Rasen. He is now for sale and looks to be a very exciting prospect.

The steady pace dictated that this was a test of speed, the winner much better equipped for it than the remainder. SOCIALIST AGENDA, a Flat-bred gelding, was essentially too quick for more stoutly bred sorts, cruising upsides the leader in the straight and not hard pressed to go clear in the closing stages. He had any amount in hand, though, so he may well be able to defy a penalty when speed is at a premium.
