UU Wetherby 3

Uisce Ur Wins at Wetherby

Uisce Ur winning in fine style at Wetherby for the in form Tabitha Worsley and Laura Morgan

UISCE UR cruised into contention and once asked to pick up from the last she delivered the goods, making it second time lucky for her current trainer. The application of first-time cheekpieces helped and the Irish point winner has obviously kicked off handicaps on a decent mark.

Haasab 3

Haasab wins at Market Rasen

Having had no runners for a while, Haasab got off the mark in fine style at Market Rasen. He was given an excellent positive ride by the talented Tabitha Worsley.

HAASAB took the bull by the horns after a couple of flights and wasn't for catching after kicking at the top of the home straight. It was a deserved breakthrough and a wind operation since his last outing in January has evidently done the trick. HAASAB has been a bit unlucky but has had his palate done and it has helped him. He's in at Sedgefield on Friday and could take his chance, although he's definitely better when fresh - Laura Morgan, trainer.

Zak Newc Jan19-3

Comfortable win for Zakharova under a penalty

Zakharova made it two wins from three outings in bumpers with a comfortable victory at Newcastle under a winners penalty. She was giving the runner up 19 lbs.

She was arguably unlucky in her previous outing in a Listed race at Aintree’s Grand National Meeting when she encountered traffic problems but was still only 14 lengths behind the winner.

ZAKHAROVA, unplaced in a Grade 2 at the Aintree festival on her previous start in April, found these calmer waters much more to her liking, and having cruised to the front over 2f out she stayed on well to gain her second success from just three starts. This was not the strongest of contests but there was plenty to like about this success under her penalty.

Djakavi Catterick-2

Djarkevi wins on yard debut

Djarkevi proved to be a very shrewd buy for Laura Morgan and Owner Elaine Holmes when picked up at Goffs October Sales for a fraction of the £68,000 that Charlie Longsdon paid for the gelding barely 18 months earlier.

Making his debut for the yard at Catterick he jumped for fun and fairly bolted up under Ross Chapman….lets hope the handicapper is not too harsh on him !

DJARKEVI, making his debut for this trainer, jumped particularly well and, having set a good gallop, saw his race out in style. He proved far too good for his rivals but the downside is that he could face a stiff rise for beating some out-of-form rivals.

Skipping On Hurdles-1

Boxing Day win For Skipping On

Three time winning chaser , Skipping On, reverted to Hurdles for his first run in the colours of The Triumph In Mind partnership and recorded an emphatic win at very rewarding odds of 16-1.

He was given a polished ride by 7lb claiming amateur Tabitha Worsley and stayed on really well up the Sedgefield hill.

SKIPPING ON, absent since an 11l winner over fences in April, produced a fine effort after his absence under a positive ride. He found plenty when asked for extra late on and won comfortably.

TT Still 3

Chase win for Thomas Todd

After a steady start to the season, due to the firm ground and lack of rain in the autumn, the horses are really running into form.

Hasaab was a close second yesterday at Leicester and Thomas Todd went one better today with an emphatic win at Mussleburgh.

THOMAS TODD, a point winner since last seen over hurdles, was held up and looked in trouble before picking up strongly on the straight. He should be able to go on from this.

GWYM2

Valuable Win for Go West Young Man

A fantastic win for Go West Young Man in the Perth Silver Cup. Laura is fast getting a name for winning valuable prizes with horses that she improves with her attention to detail.

This was also a very cool ride from the talented Tabitha Worsley and also was a new course record !

GO WEST YOUNG MAN turned in a much improved effort in the first-time visor, pressing on a long way out and, in truth, never looking in much danger of being reeled in. Whether the headgear will work as well a second time, though, remains to be seen.

Alys Rock wins at Worcester

The yard got off the mark for the new season when Alys Rock won over fences at Worcester under Partick Cowley. Always in the front rank she jumped into the lead 6 from home and never looked like being caught, staying on well up the run in.

ALYS ROCK, previously trained by Mick Appleby and off the track for over a year, gave Laura Morgan her first winner of the season. Moving to the front at the last down the far side, she was being hard pressed by the runner-up when he collided with the rails on the run-in. Now 2-3 over fences, she showed a slight inclination to jump to her right, but drifted the other way after the last.
